For me, this work is more than a business—it’s a calling. I believe passionate leaders with world-changing ideas deserve a champion who can clear the path, navigate the legal maze, and help them launch with confidence. My greatest joy? Hearing your story and helping you build the organization that will bring your vision to life.
After many years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I now call Fort Collins, Colorado home. My “office mate” is Rocky, my sweet Shih Tzu, who helps make sure our clients are well taken care of. When I’m not helping clients midwife their missions into the world, you can often find me on the pickleball court, or connecting with friends over a great meal and a good glass of wine.
I’m also an avid traveler, with more than 50 international trips to about 30 countries—and I love learning from the people and cultures I encounter along the way. Serving in my local faith community is another passion close to my heart.
For over 30 years, I’ve had a front-row seat to the incredible impact one founder’s vision can have on the world. I’ve worked with and led nonprofits both here in the U.S. and as far away as Russia, Brazil, and the Philippines, where I’m still known as “Mommy Kim” to many children.
Through it all, I’ve seen the same roadblock stop so many big-hearted founders: getting started. That’s why I created Vision Catalyst—to be the guide that founders need. I take on the legal and paperwork complexities so you can stay focused on your mission, not wrestling with IRS forms.
Nonprofits have been my lifelong passion, and I truly believe changing the world takes all of us.

She believes everyday people can do extraordinary things when they’re equipped with clarity and support, and she’s passionate about helping founders turn big ideas into thriving nonprofits.
When she’s not helping clients midwife their missions into the world, Kim is likely on the pickleball court, traveling (she’s made more than 50 international trips to around 30 countries), or having adventures with her “office mate,” Rocky the Shih Tzu. She also loves connecting with friends over a great meal and serving in her local faith community. Meet Helen Snell, Nonprofit Strategist at Vision Catalyst. Helen partners directly with our clients to walk them through every step of the nonprofit formation process—from the very first conversation about their vision to submitting a complete, IRS-ready application. With her background in interviewing, content creation, and communication coaching, Helen has a remarkable ability to capture each founder’s heart and translate it into the kind of clarity and structure the IRS loves.
Helen is also a bestselling author, international speaker, podcast host, and soon-to-be nonprofit founder herself. She knows what it feels like to carry a dream that matters, and she loves walking alongside founders—helping them turn that dream into an approved nonprofit they can lead with confidence. Helen enjoys a great novel, spending time in nature, and being mastered by her dogs.

Meet Kat Sturtz, our go-to Operations Manager at Vision Catalyst. With decades of experience in business management, marketing, and nonprofit support, Kat is the steady hand that keeps our systems (and our sanity!) running smoothly. An award-winning nonfiction author and seasoned consultant, she blends creativity with tech-savvy skills to turn complex processes into clear, practical resources for our clients. Kat especially loves helping each founder put their unique vision into words and guiding them toward that exciting moment when their nonprofit becomes official.
When she’s not streamlining systems or crafting resources, Kat enjoys relaxing at home or helping bring shows to life on stage at the community theater.

With an accounting degree and more than four years of nonprofit accounting experience, MaryAnn is the steady guide who helps our clients keep their financial houses in order. She’s known for her integrity, reliability, and sharp attention to detail—but clients also appreciate how approachable and easy she is to work with. From restricted grant tracking to functional allocation, MaryAnn brings clarity to complex financial reports and makes sure nonprofits have what they need to stay strong and compliant. She also keeps her skills sharp through ongoing training, so every client benefits from current, practical solutions.
As a mom of four, MaryAnn knows a thing or two about juggling priorities—which makes her a natural at wrangling the details for our clients with patience and care.
